11:02 am
the tigers' dh dell monday young was the mvp as well with a big series. two home runs, and he batted .353. he'll get to start tonight in left field. the two guys you're talking about, buster posey and miguel cabrera. cabrera the triple crown winner and always a threat. he was hitting .313 in the lcs. buster posey, the national league battle title champ has absolutely struggled in the postseason only hitting .187 or .178. if the giants team knows anything, they know no pitcher or any situation is insurmountable. >> we have therein but a lot in this postseason already. i think everybody that is on the team now understands, you know, the difficulty of a postseason game and the intensity from pitch one. so i think they all probably have a pretty good idea of what
11:03 am
to expect. >> reporter: here's a fun fact for the giants fans. if the giants score early, they will be looking really good. in the postseason when the giants have plated runs first, their record is 6-1. game time 5,:00. first pitch, 5:07. verlander is going to square off against zito and it will be a showdown. back to you. >> it is looking good. thank you, aimy. barry zito is taking the mound for the giants against justin verlander. arguably, he's the best pitcher in the entire league right now. the giants have released their entire rotation for the series. the lineup goes just like this, madison bum gardner will pitch tomorrow for game two. ryan vogelson will make his someday buy in game three. matt cane pitches game four and tim lincecum provides relief in the bullpen.

11:06 am
starting at $300 for standing room only all the way up to $9,000. as for the giants themselves, they are absolutely out of tickets. and one of the things people are saying is a good luck charm already is this shirt that came out yesterday. a lot of them wearing this plus the matching hat saying they will do whatever it takes to help those giants win. reporting live in san francisco, kristy smith, nbc bay area news. >> thank you, kristy. meantime, the most famous broken bat in america is now found after getting lost. hunter pence shattered prison bat in game seven of the nlcs. the bat connected with the ball three times before taking off to the outfield. apparently the bat was sold to a season ticketholder for $400 at a game used merchandise stall. but the giants tracked down the owner and that man wants pence to have the bat back.
11:07 am
also, getting into the series groove, late-night host jimmy fallon last night decided to roll out the pros and cons of that 2012 world series. >> pro, heading to the tigers' stadium to watch one of the games. con, using apple maps to get there and ending up in an actual stadium full of tigers. >> we'll be hearing a little more from fallon in his pros and cons coming up later in our news cast. it is good stuff. hang around. this morning before tonight's big game, former giants' players are spreading cheer to children and their families at the san francisco children's hospital. they went room to room visiting young cancer patients. lucille is there, too. during the game fans and players will remember family members lost to cancer and will hold plaques in memory of their names.

>> you can check out our home page for the latest on the world series news. in the meantime, the question on everyone's minds, will the weather at at&t cooperate for tonight's game? we all remember this soaking, soggy scene as the downpour drenched the infield during the final inning of game seven. for more on today's forecast, let's go to meteorologist christina loren live outside at&t park. christina, you have been out there all morning long, how are you holding up? >> it is still cold out here, marla. and you just saw from that video, this is one of the most beautiful parks in the country, but when it rains it gets downright ugly. tonight i'm going to go ahead and do it, no rain in the forecast for tonight's game. we are looking good. i'm surrounded by some very enthusiastic fans. >> yea! >> reporter: many of the guys have been here with me since 4:00 this morning. let's look at your weather and talk about what we have left in

steal the information of its customers. the company is advising anyone who used a card at their stores to change their pins and also to look for any unauthorized transactions. the barnes & noble is one of 63 stores across the country to have one of its pinpads compromised. only one device in each store was hacked. the criminals planted bugs in the affected pin pads to allow them to obtain pins and credit card numbers. barnes & noble stopped using the pin pads at all the nearly 700 stores nationwide and that happened on september 14th. there have been some cases in which information was stolen and used to make unauthorized purchases. some of the customers we talked to are hesitant to use cards at barnes & noble. others, not so much. will you use your credit card here or debit card here? >> sure. i mean, we cannot stop all these

fan because you went to sonoma state and you're from the area, but there are a lot of fans just like you here excited about the first world series game. so let's talk about what you can expect. now, i want to bring your attention to the wind. you'll notice those flags, which typically blow out to mccovey cove, are blowing in the opposite direction. we had a storm system come through as you know, rain earlier, in addition to shifting the winds. so that ball could be carried out to left field. a very different scenario than our boys are used to, but they know how to work the field. the tarp is still on and we are expectedi expecting a renegade shower or two. from the radar we are mostly dry and will timely get a significant break from the wet weather we have been dealing with all day long. highs today mostly in the 60s. temperatures in the mid to upper 60s for places like larimer, we'll be near 64 degrees. in san jose, just 59 here in the
